What is nexus?
Nexus is the legal trigger that makes you responsible for collecting and paying sales tax in a state. If you sell enough into a state, you owe tax there.
Most states use economic nexus thresholds — typically $100,000 in sales or 200 transactions in a 12-month period. Cross that threshold and you need to register and file.
The problem:
If you sell to customers across 15 states, you have 15 different thresholds to track — each with different rules and deadlines. That's exactly what Taxero handles automatically.
What Taxero does NOT do (yet)
We believe in honesty about scope. Phase 1:
