Connect eBay Sales →eBay's managed payments complexity
eBay remits tax, but sellers still need nexus records. Here's why.
eBay's managed payments complexity
eBay collects and remits sales tax through their Managed Payments system. The "eBay Collected Tax" column is what eBay paid on your behalf, not what you owe separately.
Nexus tracking still required
eBay marketplace sales count toward your economic nexus exposure in each state. If you cross a threshold across eBay and other platforms combined — you may need to register and file returns.
What Taxero uses from your export
We use your sale amounts (not the tax amounts) to calculate your nexus exposure accurately. The eBay Collected Tax column tells you what eBay remitted, not what you owe. We handle the distinction automatically.
